The Beech King Air 90 was the original model of the King Air series, one of the most popular business turboprop aircraft ever produced. The King Air first saw light as a turboprop refinement of the Queen Air series, with the intention of being used as staff transport for the United States military. The early prototypes involved a Queen Air model 65-80 powered by PT6 engines and were accepted by the United States military, who ordered unpressurized versions in 1963. Pressurized versions were then created for civilian use in 1964, which were the original King Air 90s.
A variety of versions were consequently produced, such as the King Air A90 and B90 models which were powered by PT6A-20 engines, the C90 model which was powered by PT6A-21 engines, the E90 model which was powered by the vastly superior PT6-34B engines, and the F90 model which featured four blade propellers, a T-tail design, and several other modifications.
The Beech King Air C90 featured a 4 foot 11 inch greater wingspan than previous models, a new maximum take-off weight of 9,650 lbs, and new, more powerful PT6A-20A turboprop engines. Various other versions were to follow, including the King Air C90-1, which was powered by PT6A-21 turboprop engines, and also featured better cabin pressurization, the King Air C90A, which had remodeled engine cowlings, and an increased maximum take-off weight of 4,580 kg. The C90B is the latest model and is still in production, under the auspices of the newly formed Raytheon Aircraft company.

One of the lightest aircraft combining the use of twin propellers and turbine engines. Ideal for short to mid-range flights, Turbo Props offer greater fuel efficiency so they work out to be less expensive than other aircraft. Turbo Props fall into two categories, executive turbo props and Commuter turboprops. On average Turbo props have the capacity to transport groups of up to 8 passengers over a thousand miles.

Turboprop Aircraft
Turboprop aircraft are smaller than Light Jets and other traditional aircraft and can carry between 5 to 68 passengers. One of the lightest aircraft combining the use of twin propellers and turbine engines
, they are ideal for short to mid range flights, Turboprops offer greater fuel efficiency so they work out to be less expensive than other aircraft. Turboprop cabins can be easily changed from passenger to cargo configurations inside 30 minutes proving their size is not a hindrance on their versatility. However no lavatories, stand-up room or flight attendants are available for passengers.

These aircraft are becoming more popular due to their flexibility and low fuel costs; they can also fly in and out of small airports and airfields with rough runways that cannot be accessibly by larger aircraft. The propellers are able to reverse pitch that enables the aircraft to slow down so they can land on runway lengths between 2,000 and 2,400ft. With their adaptability to many environments, turboprops are perfect for a wide range of missions including standard, cargo, executive, amphibious and Arctic environments. Turboprops fall into two categories, executive turboprops and commuter turboprops. On average Turboprops have the capacity to transport groups of up to 8 passengers over a thousand miles.

There are many types of Turboprop Aircraft available most of them are equipped by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-xx turboprop engines with range of horse power hp that permit speeds up to 466 km/h with a maximum altitude of 30,000ft. Carrying passengers and or Cargo.

Propeller Aircraft Training & Mentoring

Propeller Introduction

Transitioning from Private Pilot Student after 55 flying hours to a recognized Private Pilot with sufficient confidence in itself is not an easy job. To fly an environment safely and confidently requires a focused commitment to a high-level of learning from trusted instructors and mentors who have "been there before".  Actual SEP experience before flying more complex aircrafts begins is an excellent way to prepare for.

  • Training before or after you take delivery of your SEP(L) aircraft
  • Curriculums tailored to your needs
  • I'll come to you or you travel to my base EBCI

Preparation

For many pilots transitioning after passing succesfuly their Private Pilot License check ride, their first exposure to the fast paced single engine curriculum offered by the large training schools results in a pilot who is overwhelmed and often unprepared for such training.

I offer the transitioning training a focused building-block approach to the various training elements that must be mastered in order to be prepared and confident as training begins.

Aircraft Specific Study:

  • POH: Pilot Operating Handbook
  • Aircraft Memory Items
  • Operational Limits
  • Systems Overview

Instrument

  • Low Visibility Training
  • Arrival and departures from Controlled Aerodromes
  • Use of Instruments in VFR flights

GPS and Glass Cockpit

  • Glass Specific Instrument Interpretation
  • Use of Autopilot
  • GPS
  • Glass Cockpit familiarization

SEP(L) Training

  • Once a pilot has earned the PPL, in addition to EASA requirements, insurance company requirements often dictate that the new pilot owners of fresh new aircrafts complete between 10 to 25 hours of supervised operating experience with a qualified mentor/instructor pilot.
  • I offer mentoring in order to move the pilot from what they learned in the PPL training in a canned profile environment to the "real-world" environment where they will actually apply the recently learned skills under the supervision of a qualified mentor.

Topics such as high-altitude operations, hazardous weather avoidance techniques, operational procedures to enhance single-pilot operations, stabilized maneuvering concept and night flying rating among others are briefed and flown to provide the new SEP(L) pilot an additional level of competence and confidence that can only be achieved in the aircraft in real-world situations.

All proposed flight trainings are only recommended for Pilot Experience enhancement  and no certificates and or licenses are provided at the end of the training.

All Flights will be conducted in VMC under VFR Rules, in case of passing in IMC conditions and the aircraft used is certified for IFR flights, we will conduct the flight under IFR rules if you are not IFR rated you will not be able to log the flight in your logbook.
